The Imaging and Nuclear Medicine has been set up for a long time and the teaching faculty of this discipline is highly qualified. Presently there are 13 full professors, 10 associate professors and 15 lectures, and among them 10 have a doctor’s degree and 24 have a master’s degree. Moreover, there are 6 provincial and national academically outstanding youths, 18 master tutors, 1 national outstanding teacher, 1 provincial outstanding teacher and 3 celebrated teachers.
After years’ construction, the college is now equipped with facilities of complete machines valued at over RMB 380,000, including CT, MRI, DR, Color Doppler Instrument, Molybdenum target X-ray apparatus, Remote control gastrointestinal X-ray machine, Medical electron linear accelerator, Cobalt 60 radiotherapy equipment, stimulation positioning machine, and After the tumor therapy apparatus.
At present, the discipline establishes three stable research orientations around which the study group conducts plenty of research. They are Medical Imaging Diagnosis, Medical Image Quality Evaluation with Radiation Dose Optimization and Medical Image Processing and Analysis. Over the past three years, the study group has completed 6 scientific research projects, published over 100 pieces of papers on core journals, 4 of 3 major paper retrieval systems, and achieved 6 awards for the scientific research which include 1 third prize of provincial science and technology progress, and 2 national patents. Presently the research group undertakes 6 programs among which one is provincial natural science fund and at the same time actively conducts the transverse scientific research in cooperation with enterprises with 7 transverse scientific programs. During the past three years, its teaching achievement has been awarded 1 first prize, 2 second prizes and 1 third prize at the provincial level and it has published 10 textbooks (monographs), 6 of which are complied as the national planning materials of eleventh five-year plan for ordinary institutions of higher education, four planning materials of the ministry of health of the eleventh five-year plan.
Imaging and Nuclear Medicine was ratified as the authorization discipline of master’s degree in 1998, and took a lead in enrolling undergraduate of imaging technology in China in 1999. Presently there are over 90 full-time postgraduates and over 900 graduates, and over 4,000 graduates work in hospitals of various levels around different provinces and cities, most of which have become the backbone of the hospital.
